Soprano Ah Young Hong, praised by The Baltimore Sun for her
"silken tone, limpid phrasing, and confident technique," has extensively performed in oratorios,
recitals, orchestral and chamber works with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Britten-Pears Baroque
Orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Bay-Atlantic Symphony, The Lincoln Symphony Orchestra,
the Magnolia Baroque Festival, the Loudoun Symphony, Baltimore Choral Arts Society, the Handel Choir
of Baltimore, Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, the Dryden Ensemble, Harmonious Blacksmith, and Annapolis Opera.
Her operatic repertoire includes Fortuna and Minerva in Il ritorno d’Uisse in patria, Asteria in
Tamburlaine, Nannetta in Falstaff, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Pamina and Papagena in
Die Zauberflöte, Gilda in Rigoletto, Nymphe/Silphide in Zélindor, roi des Sylphes
with Opera Lafayette, which the world premiere recording will be released in 2009 by Naxos, and Morgana in
Alcina. She teaches voice at Peabody Conservatory of Music and Towson University.
